如果你想把閱讀中碰到的一些新詞匯或有意義的句子記下來，如He has firmly established himself as a world-famous psychologist ．（他已經牢牢地確立了自己作為一名世界知名的心理學家的地位。）為了更好地掌握該句中的短語establish oneself as．．．（使自己成為……），就可以舉一些相似的例子，如：①She has firmly established herself as a famous writer．②She has firmly established herself as the richest lady in this country．等等。又如be kept busy with這個常用短語，可以通過這樣一些句子來記。如：①Mary is kept quite busy with the large restaurant she is managing．②She has been kept busy with all her business relations．另外，如果你想記住某些常用短語的用法，就可以將它們記在一張紙上，利用零星時間來記。如由up一詞構成的短語： look up a word（查詞典）；call sb．up（打電話）； pick up sth．（收起來放一邊）；put up with sb．（容忍）；catch up with sb．（趕上）等等。
